ITALY: SICILY AND THE AEOLIAN ISLANDS

ITALY: SICILY AND THE AEOLIAN ISLANDS

The beautiful island of Sicily has much to offer: some of the best Greek ruins of Europe, charming villages, beautiful beaches and turquoise waters, the most active volcano in Europe, Etna, and the little-known North Aeolian Islands.

By car we will visit the most beautiful cities and monuments on the island:

Noto a beautiful city rebuilt after a massive earthquake.

Syracuse one of the most important archaeological sites in Sicily.

Etna with its perennial inner fire and his white cloak.

Catania a Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, Bourbon, Swabian, Angevin, Aragonese and Spanish city. It is inevitably an open and tolerant municipality, but above all, Catania is considered a symbol of rebirth: many times destroyed by the forces of nature and by conquerors, it has managed nevertheless to always resurface with resolution and courage.

And the charming town of Taormina, the pearl of Sicily located at two hundred meters on Mount Tauro, in a splendid natural terrace overlooking the bay.

To finish our tour of Sicily we will cross by ferry to one of the Aeolian Islands, where we have our base camp, from there we will explore the other lovely little islands; there are no cars, so we will go on bikes, buggies or donkeys. We will eat delicious food prepared with fresh products from the sea, and sleep like kings in beautiful boutique hotels nestled in the mountains, with breathtaking views.
