When we talk about Peru, the first thing that comes to mind is Machu Pichu, the enigmatic Inca city built by Pachacutec with huge blocks of stone atop a mountain surrounded by forests and cliffs; a holy city, where one’s energy is recharged just by being there.
But Peru is more than that, and has so much to offer, even when you go with kids !! Its people, hotels, landscapes, gastronomy, everything invites us to share the experiences of this amazing country with our children.
For those who like trekking and enjoy nature at first hand, we can do the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu; there are different variations depending on one’s physical condition; the route of the Sacred Valley is wonderful !!
Arriving by train at Machu Pichu is also an experience !! The Amazon rainforest, which occupies most of the territory of Peru, rich as any in flora, fauna and vegetation, can be explored either by the river or sailing on the AQUA staying in one of their eco-lodges.
The mysterious Nazca lines are worth a visit, from the air obviously. The colonial city of Arequipa; Cuzco, Lake Titicaca, the Andes, and even the great metropolis of Lima, are other attractions of this amazing country.
